Which one is better and why?
Hard to say. Healing Light heals more reliably (450 HP/10 s) and the Paladin's armor means the healing is worth more than it seems. However, Circle of Life (240 HP/10s), while healing less, impacts allies, meaning its potential healing is quite high.
I think that while Healing Light heals more and costs a bit less, Circle of Life definitely is better for hard chokepoints, as it does area healing. In general though, I usually like to opt more for Circle of Life.
Yep, Circle of Life will worth more if you place soldiers and heroes (especially armored ones) very closely to Forest Keepers. Some people disliked Circle of Life because it doesn't heal more than they take damage; that's because it's designed for area allies healing, and not just Forest Keepers themselves. Holy Order has heavy armor in addition to Healing Light, which only heals oneself with hundreds of HPs, so that's why Healing Light is good for saving one Paladin's life. Don't forget about poison and True Damage, though!
Circle of Life, however, requires Forest Keepers to take some damage in order for the ability to take effect; nearby allies that takes damage does not make Forest Keepers use the healing, regardless of their remaining HP. The use of Circle of Light depends on the health of Forest Keepers, in addition to cooldown.
It's currently bugged that although the description said that it heals 80/160/240 HP, it only heals like that if you include the idle healing. If you keep Forst Keepers busy while they heal, they should heal 20/40/60 HP per second for four seconds. Or maybe it's designed to be healed like the former way, but the description is misleading. I'm not sure about that.
Its just depends on.
Healing Light is basically single yet selfish healing for paladins and it basically makes paladins relying on tanking. Its also fairly cheap and it is great for paladins since its reliant on armor and most enemies deal physical damage. Sadly paladins are crap against magic or true damage as healing doesn't cover as much as it does.
Circle of Life is slightly expensive yet it gives more hp and heals allies. Sadly it reliant of Forest keepers which aren't as bulky as the paladins are. I would say Circle of Life is better but it is exclusive on Forest Keepers which by themselves are more supportive due to reliant on range, slowing down enemies and healing allies instead of reliant on themselves. However unlike paladins they spawn faster, are 100 hp stronger, deadly melee and greater range makes them better at dealing with magic or true damage dealers and circle of life doesn't suffer all that much.
Out of the two Circle of life would have been better but it aint RPG and usually Healing Light just seems better for soloing enemies and stalling is better than supporting.
The fact that Circle of Life requires the forest keepers themselves to take some damage to trigger the effect is a deal breaker for me. When Origins first came around, I was all about combining bladesingers with forest keepers, but eventually I realized the combo is less reliable and much more expensive than massing archers and mages.
It's more of a novelty experience for Grimmsburg since it has only one exit and all future levels either have 2 or more exits or narrow pathways but too few strategic points to make the combo more enjoyable, such as Tainted Pit and Arcane Quarters.
I like the idea of allied healing, but it's just not that reliable with the current trigger programming. Healing Light actually triggers when it's expected to.
Though I haven't used either much, I have to say circle of life for healing everyone
Obviously Healing Light.
During my longtime playthroughs of the game, trying different aspects of the towers, i definitely find Healing Light more appealing to use than Circle of Life.
In practice, Circle of Life is somewhat worse due to some problems regarding it's activation. It only activates *when* one of the centaur's hurt, which doesn't contribute well to synergy of other units, and centaur's aren't supposed to be dealing damage up close, only from afar due to True damage spear upgrades.
However, Healing Light, is a different thing altogether. It might heal only itself, but it activates for *every* paladin. and not once, but every 10 seconds. such ability makes Paladins survive more on the battlefield, and even then---- It is very cheap upgrade for such a valuable asset to tanking. Paladins supposed to tank, and them having healing abilities makes them tank more, applying more damage from towers.
Another thing I just remembered, Circle of Life occurs OT after triggering while the full effect of Healing Light is instantaneous when it triggers.
What do you think?
