We'll look back fondly on that ambush at Rotwick, for now the Royal Road brings us to the Necropolis!
As our men make their way through ancient crypts and ransacked tombs, they grow restless with the staggering amount of open graves.
The prenatural silence only makes it worse, as it is undoubtedly but a preamble to another attack by the forces of darkness.

Ancient Necropolis is the twenty-fourth stage in Kingdom Rush and the second in the Curse of Castle Blackburn mini-campaign available on the Steam, iOS, and Android versions.

Strategy

General[]

Abusing Rain of Fire is essential to complete this level. Rain of Fire's most important roles are to heavily reduce Abominations' HP and to turn Fallen Knights into Spectral Knights so Elora Wintersong can deal with them, with the aid of Magic Towers.

Upgrades and Hero[]

All the Upgrades should be maxed at this point. Elora Wintersong is a very strong choice here because of her crowd control skills plus her ability to deal a lot of damage to Spectral Knights.

Towers[]

A proben strategy is placing two Magic Towers on the last spot (the previous to the last on the southern lane), two barracks immediately before them and two artillery towers immediately before those. You should focus on getting a Tesla x104 with Overcharge in the northern lane, which will be enough to deal with the Necromancers.

Upgrades and Hero[]

  • At this time, you should have enough stars to upgrade everything in the Upgrade Tree. If you do not, then upgrade Barracks, Artilleries, Rain of Fire, and Reinforcements fully in the Upgrade tree.
  • Because Spectral Knights are immune to physical damage, any ranged heroes that wither deals True Damage or Magic Damage works for Spectral Knights due to the restriction of mage in this challenge. If you do not have any premium heroes, you should use Gerald Lightseeker, as he have a fair health and the heaviest armor among all three free heroes. However, he have low armor at Level 1, so place him near any unarmored enemies so that he can gain experiences quickly, as well as leveling up to have an even better armor. Don't forget that at least level 4, Gerald will use Shield of Retribution to reflect back damage from attacker; plus, the ability deals True Damage.

Towers[]

  • In the top western entrance, it spawns Fallen Knight. Be aware that then they die, they return as Spectral Knight, and as they are immune to physical damage, Melee Towers and Artillery Towers (though they ignore 1/2 of armor, but not in immunity), deals no damage to them. However, as mentioned above, Spiked Armor reflects True Damage back to the attacker, so building Barracks would be the best on Top western strategic points. Even better, upgrade them to Holy Order, and if possible, purchase Healing Light (to heal themselves), and Shield of Valor (for heavier armor). Holy Strike will do nothing against Spectral Knights, as its ability only deals physical damage (except in Flash; however, players will not encounter Spectral knights as an enemy as it is in the elite levels that aren't available in flash). It's also advised to place Gerald Lightseeker near Paladins, as he will use courage to gain armor, damage, and heals allies (this requires Gerald to be at least Level 2). Lastly, use rain of Fire against Spectral Knights if your troops couldn't handle the Fallen Knights and Spectral Knights.
  • In the southern west, it spawns Skeletons and Necromancers. Because Necromancers spawn undead minions, it can overwhelm the players; therefore, artilleries are the best to be placed around the south. Low-leveled artilleries almost do nothing against Skeleton Knights and Necromancers, so upgrade them as fairly as possible. If possible, as soon as Necromancers spawn from the entrance, place Reinforcements, with the help of artilleries, to attack the Necromancers, as they cannot summon undeads while blocked.
