Anurian Chasers are ranine enemies, and the basic enemies of the Anurian Wetlands, the fourth environment of Kingdom Rush: Vengeance, introduced in the Subaquatic Menace Mini-Campaign.
Overview[]
These agile hunters have a strong set of legs that use to jump over their enemies to cause a devastating impact.
Frog-men with shields and double-sided halberds, Anurian Chasers are the foot soldiers of the Anurians. They sport medium armor, deal moderate damage, appear in groups and have the very dangerous ability to jump towards your troops, quickly bypassing your defense while dealing 60 area physical damage upon landing. Furthermore, their large numbers will allow them to quickly overwhelm barracks while subsequently leaking through.
They will not use their leaping ability on Jun'Pai or if the landing point is near the exit.
Strategy[]
- Avoid placing Barracks in a position where they can leap to, otherwise they will devastate said barracks with their numbers and jump attack while then leaking through.
- If possible, you can place Barracks somewhere near the exit where they will not be able to jump towards.
- Use leveled-up barracks to make sure they survive several jump attacks.
- You can use their jump attack to your advantage when facing large groups of them by placing reinforcements in front then immediately following up with a soul impact in the same spot. When done correctly this can result in a instant cooldown. Heroes with powerful splash damage, such as Eiskalt, can also be used to great effect.
- Magic towers are proficient at dealing damage past their armor, although they may have trouble with the sheer numbers later on.
- Place Specters Mausoleums next to the exits to prevent leaks and stack some Orc Shamans for their area damage abilities.
- Deep Devil's Reef is practically tailor-made for stalling and damaging staggered chasers. The dual purpose of the tower makes it safer to establish back-line vantage points without compromising firing range.
- Artillery, especially the Melting Furnace, can be useful as it will hit their large numbers and partially bypass their medium armor. Since they will begin grouping up due to their jump ability, placing one near the barracks can deal damage to the group all at once.
- Elite Harassers can quickly kill (injured) Anurian Chasers with Arrow Storm.
