Challenges are available only on the Mobile version of Kingdom Rush: Frontiers. They were made available alongside the 10th Anniversary of the game. The feature did not prove as successful as hoped, and further development of it was abandoned.

Challenges allows the player to create custom-made levels for yourself and other people to play, by adjusting the play mode, difficulty, heroes, towers and upgrades to limit what is available for use. After creating a challenge, it must first be completed before it can be shared. A link can be generated and shared between friends, or other players, by copying the link to your own clipboard and using the download button on the Challenges page.

  • Heroes must be unlocked or purchased in order to be used in a Challenge. If they are not available on the device the Challenge is played on, the Challenge cannot be played.
  • Heroes set at anything below 10 will gain experience and level up during the level, but will not retain the experience in the default game unless the Hero level was set to -
  • A Hero's abilities cannot be chosen.
  • Towers already built in the level count towards the total towers permitted. If Towers is set to 0, pre-built Towers will still appear.
  • Items must still be bought from the default game's Shop. Gems will be deducted as they would be normally.
  • It is possible to create a challenge with no towers, no heroes, no items and no powers. However, as this level cannot be completed, it cannot be shared.
