Cult Abominations are enemies encountered in Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance. They can spawn on their own, but also appear when a Cult Priest transforms. They are one of the few enemies that appear on 2 Areas (Forsaken Canyon and Void Beyond)
Overview[]
Fully corrupted priests of the Cult. Known for their savagery in combat.
Their 'Eat' ability has a cooldown of 10 seconds. Units can only be devoured once their HP is lower than 30%.
In levels in the Forsaken Canyon, Cult Abominations can spawn if Cult Priests aren't killed fast enough. It is highly advisable that you build non-magic towers that can quickly dispatch Cult Priests, who have medium magic resistance. In levels in the Void Beyond, Cult Abominations are often accompanied by Mindless Husks and later by the Bladeclaw Horrors, and hence magic towers are a must in killing Cult Abominations quickly.
Strategy[]
- Arcane Wizards: It is important that focused, high-damaging magic towers are built near the exit where Cult Priests are most likely to transform in the levels of the Forsaken Valley. Disintegrate's instakill ability is a good choice for early game Cult Abominations, but it should also be reserved for other high-armored enemies such as Bounded Nightmares and Bladeclaw Horrors.
- Paladin Covenant: Do not engage low-level soldier units with Cult Abominations! Sending Level 2 Paladins, into fights with Cult Abominations will only feed and heal them, as it would only take a few slashes to kill them. Conversely, Level 3 and fully upgraded Paladins could stall Abominations for a long time near magic towers, thanks to their armor and Holy Prayer ability. Do not forget to move your troops around when they need to engage with low-level enemies such as Cult Acolytes and Mindless Husks and when to avoid Cult Abominations, who often appear side-by-side.
- Reinforcements: The same advice for the Paladin Covenant can be applied to reinforcements. Upgrade your reinforcements to Paragon Knights if you want them to engage and stall Cult Abominations without them being fed. Using Shadow Archers are unadvisable since both their melee and ranged damage are trumped by magic towers. Use them for flying enemies instead.
