Kingdom Rush Wiki

Deep King is the third boss and one of the titular kings of the Pirate Kings DLC in Kingdom Rush: Vengeance. This bloodthirsty giant shark rules over the Sharkpool Reef and that's where his first battle with the player takes place.

Overview[]

The most dangerous of the shark pirates. His powerful jaws devour anything foolish enough to stand in his way.

Deep King will initiate the battle by emerging at the top left path; after he reaches about 75-70% of his HP, he will briefly return to his throne before storming the middle right path. He will repeat this maneuver after the player reduces him to about 45% of his HP, this time appearing at the bottom right lane and making his way to the bottom exit until the end of the stage.

As all other shark pirates, the Deep King has the lifesteal ability, regaining some of his lost life points whenever he attacks a unit. Every 15 seconds, he will pull out a conch shell phone and summon either two Tigershark Ragers, a Bullshark Dasher, or one of each to battle. However, none of this compares to his most deadly trick; occasionally, the giant shark can dive, emerge undearneath one of the adjacent towers, and swallow it whole, permanently destroying it.

In Treasure Island, the Deep King is the third king to enter the fray at the beginning of wave 12. He behaves very similarly to his Sharkpool Reef version, just without the ability to switch paths.

Strategy[]

Deep King is very similar in its abilities to Megalodon in that he heals if he kills something with his instakill attack(though its single target) and requires substantial firepower to defeat. He will also summon units to distract your towers, requiring even more firepower.

To defeat the Deep King, you will need towers that possesses a great amount of firepower to defeat him. Elite Harassers has insane physical DPS, allowing you to burst down the boss and the rally point allow you to reach the boss easier than other towers. Other good options include Blazing Gem, Wicked Sisters(poison mode) and Swamp Thing(due to its range). Orc Shaman, Ogre Shipwreck(with musket rage) and Infernal Mage are also decent options. If you need to stall the boss for any reason, Orc Warriors Den are decent option as boss can only kill one target at a time, and boss have trouble progressing if stalled by two of them(though do keep in mind that boss would heal so need to pair with DPS).

Additionally, Deep King will destroy the oldest built tower in his range. Hence, manipulating the order in which you build towers will allow boss to destroy less valuable towers first, instead of more valuable ones.

Hero wise, Murglun is a good option. Murglun has pretty good damage output and her Ultimate Attack does up to two thousand damage to bosses. She can also buff towers, further increasing the damage output against the boss. Dianyun is also great due to his hero spell doing having massive dps with low cooldown and you can place them at where the boss would go beforehand to stack up damage. Doomtank with his high basic attack damage also does well. Other ranged heroes are alright options as they can damage boss safely without getting eaten. Though if you are using melee heroes, to ensure they are not being useless, use them against the summons of the boss.
