Frozen Hearts are enemies encountered in the Frozen North, in Kingdom Rush: Vengeance. They were introduced in the Frozen Nightmare Mini-Campaign.

Overview

Ice elementals at the service of the Winter Queen. Their unstoppable will makes them the Heart of the North.

Ice golems animated by a spirit. These are slow-moving and lack armor or magic resistance but have high HP and will release a heavily armored Frozen Soul upon death. If the Frozen Soul is not destroyed in time, it will reform itself into the Frozen Heart at full HP.

Strategy

  • They have no armor or magic resistance, so they are vulnerable to everything. But the process of becoming a frozen soul is slower than the lock on process of nearby towers, so hitting the soul before it becomes a heart again is quite tricky.
  • Place Magic Towers in high DPS concentration areas, as the Frozen Soul they release has high armor and limited vulnerability period.
  • Avoid using the Blazing Gem against these. When they destroy the Frozen Heart, they will fail to lock onto the Frozen Soul that escapes thanks to targeting the enemy furthest from the exit.
  • Specters Mausoleum can be a very good choice with Possession. If a possessed Frozen Heart is destroyed, it will permanently fight under your command. Thanks to the Frozen Soul's extremely high armor, it should be able to respawn as a Frozen Heart under your control even in combat against high-damage enemies like Frost Giants or the Winter Queen.
  • Frozen Heart will not spawn Frozen Soul if instantly killed by Destructo-Ray, Obliteration, Geyser, or Vez'nan's Wrath.
