Glacial Wolves are wolf-like enemies encountered in the Frozen North.
Wolves created with frost magic. Dangerous creatures that explode into a cold blast when they die. (chance to freeze: 30%, duration: 2 seconds, max targets: 2)
Glacial Wolves are similar to Worgs from the first game, having similar speed, magic resistance and nearly the same health, while dealing less damage and trading the ability to dodge melee for a special ice explosion. They are fast, ruling out most artillery as an option if not blocked; their magic resistance and relatively high hit points allow them to easily bypass magic towers. When defeated, they explode into a freezing explosion that deals no damage but has the chance to temporarily freeze your units or Hero. They also tend to come in numbers, multiplying their threat. However, with a bit of strategic positioning and proper upgrades, these beasts can be torn to shreds quickly and effectively.
- Barracks and Demon Goonies should be used to stop Glacial Wolves for your towers and hero to take out, but do not fully rely on them as they might get frozen by their explosion and become unable to block.
- Level 3 or 4 Shadow Archers are a good choice against them; their sufficient firing speed and good damage will quickly take them out. Artillery such as Rocket Riders and Melting Furnace are also a solid option if one uses soldiers to stall them first.
- Finally, Glacial Wolves are resistant to magic, so if possible, steer away from magic unless those towers are at a sufficiently high level.
