The Nanoq Warbear is an enemy found in Kingdom Rush: Vengeance, first encountered in Frozen Rapids.

Overview[]

Armored polar bears with incredible resilience. They charge at their enemies to be the first to battle.

Nanoq Warbears are polar bears equipped with armor and trained by Northerners to charge into battle and attack enemies. They have high health and armor and their damage is also quite high, as they attack twice per cycle. While they initially move slowly, they have the ability to charge after a short while when not in combat, which greatly increases their speed (x2.1) and makes them very dangerous enemies.

Strategy[]

  • Mages are particularly good damage dealers and will bypass their armor, so use those towers.
  • Specters Mausoleum deals magic damage and has armored Guardian Gargoyles to keep them busy for a while. It can also possess them to make them attack their allies.
  • Try to send in tank heroes against them as they can engage in combat and slow the bears' advancement.
  • Use a leveled Barracks or goonies to stop them from charging.
  • Dark Knights are recommended as the warbears do not appear in large numbers and deal physical damage which the Dark Knights' armor and Impervious can mitigate. Brutal Strike can also instantly kill them if it triggers.
  • Melting Furnace and Orc Shaman stun their targets which stops their charging and forces them to move slowly, making them good for slowing down Warbears.

Trivia[]

  • Nanoq is Inuit and Greenlandic for Bear or Polar Bear.
  • They appear to be based on the Panserbjorne, a species of sapient polar bears from the His Dark Materials trilogy.
