The wisest Anurian. His body is so big that he can only move thanks to his incredible magical power. Beware of his appetite.

Polyx the Wise is the ranine leader of the Anurians. He is encountered in the Anurian Wetlands, the fourth environment of Kingdom Rush: Vengeance, introduced in the Subaquatic Menace Mini-Campaign. While spending most of the battle sitting in the pond, he regularly taunts the player.

Overview[]

After Polyx's emergence in battle, he will teleport 2 times: he will first appear at the start of the top lane, and upon reaching 1/3 of the map length, he will teleport vertically down to the bottom lane. Then at 2/3 of the map length, he will again teleport vertically up to the top lane, where he proceeds to steamroll to the player's home base through the middle exit.

Strategy[]

  • Just put a single Blazing Gem on the top left point with gem of Amplification and stall for just a short while and Polyx will die before he can even teleport to the bottom path.
  • For stalling, a Bone Flinger or two with The Walking Dead upgrade are perfect, as the Skeletons appear one by one, not leaving them susceptible to Polyx's area instant-kill.
    • The random targeting of Bone Flingers also helps, as they can hit Polyx even when he is surrounded by enemies.

Trivia[]

  • "One does not simply defeat the king of the Anurians."
    • Based on the One does not simply meme, which is in turn based on the line "One does not simply walk into Mordor" spoken by Boromir in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. The meme uses the term to imply that something a person is implying or intending to do will not be as easy as they think; such as defeating the boss in this instance.
  • "Who let the frogs out?"
  • "In our culture, the fattest is seen as smartest."
    • The community manager of IH explained that the Anurian race grows fatter the more they learn, implying that regular ingestion of food has seemingly no effect on their growth.
  • The achievement Much To Learn is a reference to a quote from Yoda in Star Wars.
