Tips and Tricks[]
Wukong is a melee physical hero that specialize in crowd control and stalling enemies, with the capability of killing a single foe. Almost all of his skills provide some form of stalling, although Pole Barrage and Hair Clones serve as his primary form of stalling. His first passive allows him to quickly traverse the terrain, allowing him to be rapidly deployed to any point in the map, either to intercept a leaking enemy (provided he is close enough) or to simply support multiple lanes at once. In addition, his second passive grants him significant melee DPS against any non-flying enemies regardless of armor. However, his lack of armor or self-healing renders him quite fragile, so it is recommended to either retreat him when he's about to die, or to use other heroes to boost his survivability.
- Wukong is capable of summoning units to block and stall incoming enemies via Hair Clones and Zhu's Apprentice. The former serves as essentially a short-lived, automatic version of Call Reinforcements, while the latter summon a constant companion that follows Wukong along to fight alongside him, with the potential of dishing out respectable AoE damage.
- His main form of stalling comes from Pole Barrage; a skill that damage and stuns any enemies caught in its range for a few seconds. Its decent range and stun duration, combined with its relatively short cooldown makes it an effective crowd control tool.
- His Hero Spell, The White Dragon, has a relatively short cooldown and inflict a decent amount of true damage. Additionally, it create behind a blue circle that slows down enemies passing through. Take note that the slowing circle appears before the actual damage happens, and persist for a few seconds afterward, allowing the spell to hit enemies that would've moved out of the range.
- These four skills provides him with great utility and support capabilities around chokepoints, summoning additional units to further block enemies while Pole Barrage give towers more time to attack and kill enemies. Meanwhile, The White Dragon can be used to soften and kill the incoming horde, taking advantage of the clumped up enemies.
- The only skill that isn't directly tied to stalling enemies is Jingu Bang Technique. Instead, this skill allows him to instantly kill a single foe while dealing additional foe. Through effective use of micromanagement, players can deploy him to get rid of any single dangerous or problematic opponent, provided that they pay close attention to his ability cooldown.

Trivia[]
- Sun Wukong, along with Bamboo Masters, are the first hero/tower to have different voicelines depending on language you select. In this case, they have exclusive Chinese voice-overs when toggled to Chinese/Traditional Chinese languages.
- Sun Wukong (孫悟空), is a character featured in a 16th century Chinese story called Journey to the West (Chinese: 西遊記; pinyin: Xīyóu Jì). Like his Kingdom Rush counterpart, he is born from a stone egg, created by the coupling of Heaven and Earth, and learns the ways of Tao, including transformation, combat and the secrets to immortality. In heaven, he is sent to watch over the Garden of Heavenly Peaches, but eats all of them instead. After causing a lot of trouble in Heaven, the Buddha seals him beneath a mountain for 500 years until he is freed by Tang Sanzang (唐三藏) and becomes his apprentice.
- Zhu Bajie (豬八戒) is another apprentice of Tang Sanzang, described as a half human half pig creature who excelled at fighting but exhibited many traits associated with pigs such as greediness, laziness and a lust for women.
- Tang Sanzang had a third apprentice, Sha Wujing (沙悟淨), a celestial exiled to the mortal world in the form of a hulk or ogre made of sand. Sha Wujing wore a necklace of skulls around his neck. It's possible the Stone Warrior of the Elemental Holder: Earth is based on this third apprentice.
- The Kingdom Rush: Frontiers hero Saitam is also based on the character Sun Wukong, sharing many similarities with this version of the hero. They both fly on a cloud, use a staff-like weapon, and are blessed with god-like abilities. Saitam is referenced in the DLC as being Sun's cousin and is seen in small cameos on each level fighting Parasytes to unlock an achievement.
