The Tainted Treant (Treant on the mobile version) is an enemy that appears in the Rotten Forest and Fungal Forest levels of Kingdom Rush. A small glimpse was seen in a development screenshot, and it was fully unveiled by Ironhide Studios after a user on the forums successfully guessed what it was.

With steel-hard bark, these corrupted beings were once protectors of the forest.
The Tainted Treant is a tough foe with high health and armor that can fight blow for blow with the strongest soldiers. They are slow and only take one life, but usually come in large numbers, easily able to overrun even fully upgraded Mages. In addition, many Treants will randomly spring up from the ground in the Rotten Forest stage during the campaign. These particularly annoying Treants do not provide any bounty whatsoever.
Strategy[]
- The Treants have very high armor, so liberal use of magic towers is needed. However, mages will still struggle against their numbers, while artillery will be severely hindered by their health and armor. Fortunately, there is one combination of towers that is more effective than any other: the Sorcerer Mage and the Tesla x104. The Sorcerer can curse several Treants at once, dealing magic damage, slowing them down, and greatly reducing their armor. Then, the Tesla can rip through the unprotected enemies with its high damage bolt. It is recommended to fully upgrade the Tesla here; Overcharge will deal extra damage to all enemies in range, while Supercharged Bolt will allow the main attack to hit up to 5 Treants at once.
- The Arcane Wizard can take out individual Treants quickly, but more importantly, its Teleport ability can move back several enemies at once.
- Rain of Fire should be saved for situations where hordes of Tainted Treants threaten to break through your defenses.
