The Overseer is an overarching antagonist of the Kingdom Rush franchise, serving as the main antagonist of Legends of Kingdom Rush. A being of immense power from another dimension, we first see it in the final closing scene of Kingdom Rush: Vengeance as Vez'nan faces it in the basement of Denas's Castle. It is responsible for the creation of the Unblinded Cult and for giving Krum'Thak Ragestorm, the Frost Harbinger, and Seeress Iriza their magic.
Overview[]
The Overseer is encountered as part of the final boss fight in the Extradimensional Menace adventure. It cannot be fought directly; although it has damage and armor stats; but it has many abilities that make the battle with Seeress Iriza more difficult.

Trivia[]
- The Overseer speaks in Alienese, a language created for the TV series Futurama. It is only seen speaking three times, in the comic interludes between levels.
- In Stormcloud's Winter's opening comic it says ROSEBUD followed by NEVERMORE
- In the comic following defeating the final boss it says I'LL BE BACK
- The last time Alienese was seen in a Kingdom Rush game was the post credit comic in Kingdom Rush: Frontiers, where a tentacles hand picks up the abandoned Tear of Elynie and says MINE. This is possibly (retconned) an agent of the Overseer acting on it's behalf, though this has never been 100% confirmed by Ironhide Game Studio.
- The Overseer makes an appearance in Ironhide Game Studios other main franchise Iron Marines, where it is an ally to the final boss the Void Sovereign.
- The information provided about the being states It is said that prior to being summoned to this galaxy, it almost laid waste to another world filled with Heroes and Legends, until they banded together against it and defeated it. This suggests the events of Kingdom Rush: Vengeance and Iron Marines: Invasion take place relatively close together, at least for the Overseer's personal timeline (which may be vastly different to the natural flow of time)
The Overseer is the final boss in the main campaign of Kingdom Rush Alliance. He is the final great threat to the realm and the ultimate goal of the alliance's journey.
Overview[]
An extradimensional monstrosity that invades and conquers other worlds to absorb their energy. Must be stopped at all costs.
As the level progress, the Overseer will enter new phases, with each new phase he gets better skills and better minions to raid our defense. The condition is either how many seconds have passed since the last phase, or how much HP he has left, whichever comes first.
Phase | Seconds have passed since last phase | HP left | New ability |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 0 | 30000 | - |
2 | 30 | 27000 | Starts swapping towers, 45s CD |
3 | 75 | 22500 | Starts spawning 3 Glarelings in a cocoon* from the right, 30s CD |
4 | 50 | 21000 | Starts spawning 3 Glarelings in a cocoon* from the left, 30s CD |
5 | 120 | 15000 | Tower swap CD decreased from 45s-30s, cocoon* spawn CD decreased from 30s-20s, number of Glarelings increased from 3-4 |
6 | 150 | 3000 | Starts destroying
holders**, 15s CD |
*The cocoon deals 120-180 physical damage in an area
**The sequence of holders being destroyed is the same every run, shown below:
Trivia[]
The Overseer is actually also the Void sovereign from the Iron Marines game which, like Kingdom Rush, was developed by the ironhide company.
At the end of the game, it was seen that a red gem is found inside the Overseer's eye. It is possible that this is the corrupted Tear of Elynie, as Vez'nan performs the typical endgame "Mine!" when picking it up.
